Mine & Melt: How the Collector Board Builds Value

Mine & Melt is an online slot from Quickspin, played on 4 reels and 4 rows with up to 256 bet ways. Its setting follows Lucky Jeb through a gold-rush mine, giving the game a recognisable place among mining-themed online casino games. The reels introduce the theme, but the bonus board creates the real tension: values remain locked in their cells, new symbols can change what is already there, and every Merge or Smeltdown event reshapes the space and value still in play.

The base game can convert reels 2-4 into full-reel Wild Miners before they stop. Three or four Bonus symbols lead to different bonus modes, where only Collector and Smeltdown symbols can land.

The two layers stay distinct. Wild Miner boosts base-game wins; Collector, Merge, Smeltdown and the life counter shape the bonus result.

Here is how to play Mine & Melt as one complete round:

  1. Choose the loaded settings. Open the information panel, check the active RTP and paytable, then select an amount from the available bet menu.
  2. Spin the base reels. Let the reel result settle and note whether Three Lucky Swedes has produced any Wild Miner reels.
  3. Count the Bonus symbols. Two produce a base-game payout; three open the Bonus Game and four open the Super Bonus Game.
  4. Follow the board to settlement. Track Collector values, Merge events, Smeltdown and the life counter until the remaining values are paid.

Every Collector has a base value of 2. If a Smeltdown multiplier is already active, it also applies to Collectors that arrive later. When equal Collectors touch, the game selects one qualifying pair at random: a vertical Merge moves downward, while a horizontal Merge resolves randomly to the left or right and frees the other cell.

Merge creates space; Smeltdown increases values. A spin without either feature symbol simply consumes one life, so the board can continue through several empty results before the counter runs out.

Special Symbols and Features

Symbol or event Active area Rule
Bonus symbol
Base game Two pay 2x the total bet; three trigger the Bonus Game and four trigger the Super Bonus Game
Wild Miner Base game, through Three Lucky Swedes on reels 2-4 Covers a full reel, counts as one symbol, substitutes for everything except Bonus and carries a random x2-x4 multiplier on wins that include it
Collector Bonus Game and Super Bonus Game Starts at 2, receives active Smeltdown multipliers, refills lives when it lands and pays displayed value x base bet at the end
Merge Bonus Game and Super Bonus Game Combines one randomly selected adjacent pair of equal Collectors and frees the other cell
Smeltdown Bonus Game and Super Bonus Game Refills lives and multiplies present and future Collectors by x2 or x4 for the current mode

Mine & Melt Smeltdown x2 and x4 tiles
Smeltdown uses x2 in the Bonus Game and x4 in the Super Bonus Game.

The table separates landing symbols from Merge, which is an event produced by a qualifying Collector pair. That distinction matters when several equal values are touching at once: only one random pair merges in that event.

Bonus Game and Super Bonus Game

Both bonus modes share the same board rules. Their trigger, starting lives and Smeltdown strength are different.

Mode Base-game trigger Starting lives Smeltdown multiplier
Mine & Melt x2 Smeltdown tileBonus Game
3 Bonus symbols anywhere 3 x2
Mine & Melt x4 Smeltdown tileSuper Bonus Game
4 Bonus symbols anywhere 4 x4

A Collector or Smeltdown refills the counter to 3 or 4, depending on the mode. The bonus ends when those lives run out.

Feature Buy at 60x or 330x

When available, Feature Buy costs 60x the bet for the Bonus Game and 330x for the Super Bonus Game. Buying it starts a base-game spin with at least the three or four Bonus symbols required for the selected mode.

Paying for entry does not change the board rules. The 96.09% browser client lists bought-entry RTP at 96.35% for the Bonus Game and 96.59% for the Super Bonus Game. Check the active paytable before using those figures elsewhere.

Base Game and Paying Symbols

Winning ways must start on reel 1 and continue across consecutive reels from left to right. Only the highest win on each way is awarded.

Before the reels stop, Three Lucky Swedes can randomly convert reels 2, 3 or 4 into Wild Miner reels. Each Wild Miner fills the reel visually but counts as one symbol. Its x2, x3 or x4 multiplier applies to every winning combination that contains it.

Two Bonus symbols pay 2x the total bet in the current client. Three Bonus symbols open the 3-life feature and four open the 4-life feature. Bonus symbols appear only in the base game.

Ten ordinary paying symbols

The game has ten ordinary paying designs, with current values shown in the in-game paytable. Quickspin's text rules do not name the individual icons.

Mine & Melt Download APK

A standalone Mine & Melt app or APK download is not listed on Quickspin's current product page. The official Mine & Melt demo runs in a browser on desktop and mobile and uses fun money.

On Android, use the browser instead of looking for an APK download for Mine and Melt. On iOS, the same version opens without an App Store download. If a casino presents a separate download, it belongs to the operator, so its currency and account terms may vary.

RTP and Volatility

The Game Sheet contains three mathematical configurations. The base-game share remains 60.42% in each one; the bonus share and volatility change.

Total RTP Volatility Base-game RTP Bonus RTP Highest result in the sheet simulation
96.09% 5/5 60.42% 35.67% 5,504x in 96,483,038 spins
94.19% 4.5/5 60.42% 33.77% 5,376x in 78,365,519 spins
87.15% 3/5 60.42% 26.72% 5,120x in 95,628,415 spins

RTP describes long-run model performance, not the chance that one spin will win. Quickspin reports probabilities of reaching at least 15x, 40x, 70x and 100x instead of one overall hit-frequency figure. The last column records results observed in finite simulations; it is not a published theoretical win cap.

Quickspin's 2022 sheet lists €0.20-€100, while the demo checked on 31 August 2026 offered €0.20-€1,000. Both used €1 as the default, so confirm the active bet menu before playing.

Strategy Before a Paid Spin

A Mine & Melt strategy covers cost rather than the result. Check the active RTP and stake, count Feature Buy as an immediate 60x or 330x expense, and set spending and time limits before starting.

Collector values describe earlier landings rather than forecasting the next symbol. Wild Miner conversions and qualifying Merge-pair selection remain random. Use the demo to locate the paytable, bet control and life counter before paid play.

Repeated life refills mean the bonus has no fixed duration, so stop when either the spending or time limit is reached. Casino currency and account rules come from the operator, not the fun-money client.

The suspense in Mine & Melt comes from space and time on the board: Merge opens a cell, Smeltdown raises the values, and the life counter determines how many chances remain for another useful landing.
